# SMS AI Assistants

How Liberty uses AI in guided SMS workflows and Two-Way SMS operations.

SMS AI in Liberty supports guided text conversations inside the platform.

It helps answering services respond faster, capture information consistently, and route conversations appropriately.

### Text and try it yourself

Choose a scenario, then text Liberty SMS AI live.

### What SMS AI supports

SMS AI is designed for structured messaging workflows.

Common use cases include:

* automated first response
* guided information capture
* follow-up prompts
* routing based on message content or schedule

### Shared assistant logic

SMS AI can leverage the same assistant logic used in Liberty voice workflows.

This helps teams keep prompts, routing behavior, and workflow handling more consistent across channels.

### Agent-assisted SMS workflows

Liberty supports agent-visible SMS conversations inside the same operational workspace used for other channels.

This helps teams manage calls, chats, and SMS from one platform.

### Routing and scheduling

SMS workflows can follow routing and schedule rules.

This supports different behavior during business hours, after hours, weekends, and holidays.

Examples include:

* route to an available agent during open hours
* route to a user inbox after hours
* send a standard first response before agent pickup

### Client participation and inbox access

Liberty can route inbound SMS directly to a client-facing inbox when the workflow calls for it.

This is useful when clients need to review or respond without agent intervention.

### Operational value

SMS AI helps teams:

* reduce manual handling of routine text conversations
* maintain faster first-response coverage
* keep routing and response behavior consistent
* extend omnichannel service without adding channel sprawl

### Implementation guidance

Strong SMS AI outcomes usually depend on:

* clear routing rules
* defined greetings and response patterns
* account-level SMS configuration
* compliance-ready opt-in and opt-out handling

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://www.kauneonga.com/docs/ai/sms-ai/sms-ai-assistants.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
